Today is the official launch of Round-Up for RMHC! McDonald’s customers can now donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities® through new technology that gives them the opportunity to Round-Up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar.
With the option available at approximately 14,000 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, and more than 400 in North Carolina, donating is both easier and more convenient. Customers have donated spare change through the RMHC Donation Box for decades and while donations to the collection boxes remain significant, there has been a drop as our society becomes increasingly cashless. Round-Up For RMHC will provide an additional convenient donation option for customers, regardless of their preferred payment method.
Follow along with the Round-Up fundraiser by following your local House on social media!
Thankful for our Families: Meet the Badore Family!
Anna and Benjamin Badore’s beautiful twin girls were born on June 22, 2019. At 29 weeks Anna went into pre-term labor and her husband drove an hour and a half before arriving at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital at Vidant Medical Center. After 4 days were spent in the hospital, the Badore Family checked into the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern NC with their two year old daughter, Laura, as their twins spent time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
When asked how the House helped them, Anna answered, “The House was so convenient to come and go as needed with a shuttle service available to take us back and forth to the hospital to visit Alexandria and Liliana.” Although they loved the convenience and other amenities of the House, their favorite part was the activity nights. They explained how, with everything going on, it was great to take their mind off everything and enjoy the moment.
“We have made many friends at the house. The stories that we have are endless. I have and will continue to keep in touch with the families. The staff was amazing and we were so close to them. They changed our lives for the better” said Anna.
After 115 days spent at the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital, 11 collective surgeries and procedures and 111 days spent at the RMHENC, the Badore Family celebrated going home in October!
