October Heartbeat: Congrats to Fall Grant Recipients!

 


Congratulations to our 2019 Fall Grant Recipients!

We proudly support other non-profit organizations across the state making an immediate and positive impact on children who need it most in the areas of health care, education and social services.

Congratulations to our 2019 Fall Grant recipients!

  • Brothers Organized to Serve Others, High Point, NC: $7,500 to provide mentoring programs to disadvantaged youth.
  • Camp LUCK, Charlotte, NC: $5,000 to help fund programming for children suffering from cardiac disease and their families.
  • CHEW (Children’s Hunger Elimination of Wilson), Wilson, NC: $5,000 to assist in providing weekend food students in the Wilson County Public School System.
  • Dunn Police Athletic League (PALS), Dunn, NC: $7,500 to help provide mentoring and after school programs for disadvantaged youth.
  • Eagle Rock Camp, Newton, NC: $6,000 to provide scholarship money for military families to attend the therapeutic camp.
  • Family Care Center of Catawba County, Hickory, NC: $10,000 to assist in providing basic needs to homeless children.
  • First Fruit Ministries, Wilmington, NC: $5,000 to assist in improvements at the food pantry.
  • Right Moves for Youth, Charlotte, NC: $5,000 to provide group counseling and mentoring for middle and high school students.
  • Salvation Army of Winston-Salem, Winston-Salem, NC: $7,500 to assist in improving the physical environment of the Salvation Army and enhance the shelter.
  • Simply Girls, Inc., Dunn, NC: $12,000 to fund an after school program for at-risk girls, who are currently failing math and English.
  • Wilson Youth United, Wilson, NC: $6,000 to assist in building the Nature Play Space, an outdoor learning area for youth.
  • Winston-Salem Youth Chorus, Winston-Salem, NC: $7,500 to provide scholarships for disadvantaged youth.

Are you looking for ways to donate this Halloween season? RMH of Winston Salem is accepting Build-a-Bear costumes for NICU babies to wear to celebrate Halloween!  Donations are being accepted through October 24th at 419 S. Hawthorne Road W-S, NC 27103!

Whether you’re attending one of our House’s Character Breakfasts or dressing up for the holiday, we want to see your Halloween celebrations! Share your photos with us on social with the hashtag #RMHCofNCHalloween!

Superhero Drop-In at WakeMed Children’s Hospital

 

Patients at WakeMed Children’s Hospital in Raleigh, N.C., had surprise visitors Friday, October 4, 2019, when Superman, Spider-Man and Batman, played by employees of Scottie’s Commercial Window Cleaners, appeared outside the hospital’s windows.

Service with a Smile at RMH of Eastern NC

We loved being a part of John Paul II Catholic High School’s service day! Thank you to the group that came out to the House and helped clean and prep for their Character Breakfast!

RMH of Charlotte’s Storybook Celebration

This event looked like Wonderland! RMH of Charlotte sends a big “thank you” to everyone who attended Storybook Ball 2019 and truly appreciates the support of our families and our mission!

RMH of Winston Salem Alum Becomes Toy Drive Ambassador

We’d like to give a big shout-out to RMHWS alumni Kennedy for being the ambassador for PetSmart for their annual toy drive! She brought a donation of 150 soft and cuddly animals for the House’s families to enjoy (including an awesome unicorn!).

RMH of Chapel Hill Enjoys A Tasteful Affair 2019!

RMH of Chapel Hill had a fabulous time at their 29th annual A Tasteful Affair! Thank you to all of the supporters who made this event so special! 

RMH of Chapel Hill Revs Up for its Keys for Hope Giveaway!

Support the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill by participating in their Keys for Hope Giveaway!  One lucky winner will drive away in a 2019 Honda Accord LX! Each ticket costs $100, and only 2,500 tickets are available. The drawing will be held November 15th.  For more information click here.

November 1st: Join RMH of Charlotte for their 9th annual Sporting Clays Charity Tournament, Red Shoe Shootout! To find out more information about registering a team, click here.

November 15th: The Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill will be hosting their third annual sporting clays tournament, the Capital City Shootout on Friday, November 15th! Breakfast and registration begins at 8am! For more information click here.
