I retired as Executive Director of the Ronald McDonald House in Winston-Salem in early 2011, after serving 14 years. Before I joined the staff, I was volunteer and Board member for the House, serving as President of the Board of Directors. My interest in the House stemmed from an experience with my son Tate who had surgery in Wilmington, Delaware, about the time that the House in Winston-Salem was getting started.  Then years later, in the summer of 2006, Tate and I stayed several times in the Ronald McDonald House in Cleveland, Ohio, when his daughter had surgery and went for follow-up appointments.

I have actually served three different stints on what is now the Board of RMHC of NC, starting in 1989 when it was called the North Carolina Children's Advisory Board.  I am very pleased to see how Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina has developed into a proactive, problem solving group. Additionally I served on the Global Advisory Council for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

I am married with two grown children and four little granddaughters.
