Heartbeat: Amazon Smile, Grants Update
It’s the most wonderful time of year: cooler temperatures bring falling leaves, holiday parties, and time spent with families. After making a list and checking it twice, please consider supporting RMHC of NC during the season of giving by using Amazon Smile to do your holiday shopping this year.
When you order your gifts using Amazon Smile, the Amazon Foundation donates a percentage of your purchase to your chosen charity. Use the directions below to set up your account:
Simply follow these steps:
- Ensure you are logged into your Amazon Prime account
- Go to smile.amazon.com
- Select Pick Your Own Charitable Organization and type in “Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Carolina”
- Click the Search button and hit Select next to RMHC of NC listing
- Please be sure to read and agree to terms

(Go Out For A Run) of High Point, La Escuelita of Charlotte, Rainbow Kidz Program of Statesville, Raleigh Dream Center of Raleigh, Refuge of Greenville, and the Green Chair Project of Raleigh.
The Spring 2018 grant application deadline is April 30, 2018. If your organization would like to apply for a grant during this time, please visit our website to check for eligibility and to download the application.
November 17 – In June 1987, the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern North Carolina opened its doors. And now, they’re celebrating 30 years of being a place of comfort for families caring for their children. Join them in celebrating at their 30th Anniversary Red Party, where guests can enjoy live music, a silent auction and heavy hors d’oeuvres. More information on the event and tickets available here.
December 7 – Join Ronald McDonald House of Charlotte at their Dine Out for RMH, and enjoy some BBQ for the House! City Barbecue will be donating 25% of sales around area locations. For more information and addresses of participating restaurants, check out the event page here.
December 15 – We’re coming up on the holidays, and the Ronald McDonald House of Durham & Wake is helping families celebrate with The Wishing Tree, a meaningful holiday activity for families, companies, schools and groups of all sizes. Just visit this page to find the Wishing Tree Kit, and decorate your tree with the ornaments to encourage friends, coworkers and family to purchase items represented by each ornament.
December 24 – The Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem‘s Annual Light A Luminary is here. The local community has been lighting luminaries with the Winston-Salem House since 1987, helping to provide a “home away from home” for almost 20,000 families. Click here for info on how to purchase.
